The fire departments can use such CRR technologies for supplementing and complementing their in-house community risk reduction resources, in particular, the human resources that are scarcer and more valuable.

The authors argue that the investment in community risk reduction technology is very cost-effective as compared to the costs of the operational needs. Fire departments can use different technological solutions such as data analysis for helping in the community risk assessments. Fire departments can also beneficially use other CRR technology for compliance and other purposes.
